So many options! Brian here, and I wanted to take a minute to explain how I view social media for Optimize For Outcomes. With so many options, it can be confusing and overwhelming to know what to follow so you don’t miss out.
Many businesses take an approach on social media to get you to subscribe to all their channels. They do this by publishing different content to different platforms to make you have to bounce around between them all to make sure you see everything.
I’d like to make it much easier than that, and I’ll deal with the negative ramifications to my various “social media stats” by discouraging you from following me anywhere and everywhere. Of course, if you want to do that to help me out, I’d be more than happy to have you, but it’s not needed to make sure you see it all.
I put out four forms of content. Long-form written, Long-form video, short-form video, and images/memes. Each week I cover one topic for the week with all content related to different parts of the weekly topic.
Schedule
Monday
Long article posted on Website, Facebook, LinkedIn
Long video posted on website, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn
Audio available on many podcast platforms (Optimize For Outcomes – The Podcast)
Tuesday
Short video posted on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok
Short audio available on the podcast
Wednesday
Short video posted on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok
Short audio available on the podcast
Thursday
Short video posted on YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, Tik Tok
Short audio available on the podcast
The long-form written content is posted to the website as well as LinkedIn and Facebook.
Long-form written content also comes with a long-form video. These are not exactly the same but are very similar and come from the same outline. The long-form video, in addition to being posted with the long-form written content, gets posted to the YouTube channel as well.
The short-form video gets posted to all of the platforms including Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Tiktok.
Images get posted to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, and LinkedIn.
In addition to the above, the audio from both long and short-form video get posted to Spotify and other channels as a podcast.
To summarize all that, consume the content where you want to be without worry of missing something or having to jump around to all the socials to pick up everything.
Know that if you watch a video on Facebook, you don’t have to also watch YouTube. If you watch one of the videos, you don’t have to listen to the podcast also.
Pick what’s easiest for you and enjoy!
